Software for evaluation (optional)

LabImage SPL for quantitative western blots

Trace and band detection of gels and blots is now standard. However, the SPL analysis software can do much more: traces of individual channels (e.g. blue) are automatically transferred to the second color channel (e.g. red). The normalization of the total protein and thus the referencing of the target signal, including the standards, is carried out at the touch of a button, whereby each process can be viewed or switched manually.

  • Automatic calculation and reporting of qWB analyses in seconds
  • Automatic trace and band detection even with “gel smilies”/waves etc.
  • Normalization of targets to total protein at the touch of a button

  • for Win-PC or MacOS
  • Evaluation of 1D gels (DNA/RNA, protein gels)
  • 3D gel and blot view
  • Clear software interface with image capture, histogram and data table
  • Self-explanatory software workflow mode in the function window

Accessories

You can also flexibly upgrade or convert our imaging systems after a purchase. We offer the following extensions and optional accessories at an extra charge:

  • digital thermal printer
  • external monitor, mouse and keyboard
  • low-fluorescent sample tray
  • Cutting plates for cutting out yellow bands
  • Extension to up to 4 specific fluorescences (e.g. blue, green, red and NIR)
  • Transilluminators (blue/green transilluminators, UV transilluminators)
  • Upgrade from Win 10 to Win 11

Configuration options

For an integrated PC with touch monitor, select our ChemoStar Touch model. For an external PC, choose our ChemoStar Plus model. The performance and sensitivity of both models are identical. The ChemoStar Touch model has an additional HDMI connection so that an external monitor or projector can be connected.

The ChemoStar Touch and Plus models offer a homogeneously illuminated area of 400 cm2. The Chemostar Plus XL model is the only model on the market to offer a surface area of 500 cm2 (approx. 20×25 cm).

The basic configuration of the ChemoStar Touch, Plus and Plus XL models is suitable for detecting chemiluminescence. For additional detection of fluorescence signals, you can purchase optional LED modules for up to 4 fluorescence channels.

It is possible to install up to 4 fluorescence modules. The blue (Cy2, Alexa 488), green (Cy3, TAMRA), red (Cy5, Dylight 650) and NIR (Cy7, Alexa 790) channels are available as standard. Other fluorescences on request.

An optional transilluminator can be used in the system for the detection of RNA/DNA gels (ethidium bromide and ethidium bromide replacement dyes). Here you have the choice between UV and blue/green transilluminators.

We offer an optional white light transilluminator for the detection of VIS stains.

We offer an optional thermal printer and suitable printer paper, which can be connected and operated directly to the system. The thermal printer offers the advantage that images can be printed directly from the system – e.g. for documentation in the lab book.

For quantitative analysis, we offer the LabImage 1D software as an option.

DNA/RNA staining reagent HDGreen Plus

Ethidium bromide (EtBr) is a DNA/RNA intercalator and is classified as mutagenic. We offer an alternative: HDGreen Plus is a non-mutagenic fluorescent dye for the detection of nucleic acids (DNA/RNA) in agarose gels.

DNA bands stained with HDGreen Plus fluoresce when excited under UV and blue LED light. HDGreen Plus impresses with its high performance and can therefore be used sparingly.
